Review: Watchmen movie turned out to be a catchy, definitely worth seeing. I must say, I was not enthusiastic to watch it early. Its based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore's brilliant. It is widely considered the best graphic novels ever. Films adapted to create great works of literature usually do not go well. Film does not have a big budget. More money is thrown in making Iron Man (2008) and The Dark Knight (2008), for example. It does not matter though because all over the Watchmen comic book movies in terms of professionalism. Zack Snyder is directing big action. Just watch 300 (2007) for evidence. The guards told him he was just a good general director. He also works with actors. Acting in the film is almost universally superb. Everyone gets to Shine. Malin Akerman even had his moments. There is a character feels like a brochure. All this is further complimented by the excellent choice of costume. No one can deny that the hero in Watchmen looked cool. CGI is great too. Be it Nite Owls Doctor Manhattan or airship, all look just right. Snyder presented some truly amazing scenes dramatic. Using music is inspired. The score by Tyler Bates is certainly capable, but the song choice may surprise some people. I, however, think that song just right. It is good to hear Bob Dylans The Times They Are A-Changing start and Leonard Cohen First We Take Manhattan at the end. What made me even more as the movie is its cinematography by Larry Fong. The appearance of each decade is captured perfectly. 1980 was quite dark alternate reality movie though. Nuclear war is imminent, and society is sick. For all the added sugar that is in the graphic novel look. There are many images in Watchmen that memorable, even unforgettable. There are many interesting details that I can not wait to see the movie more than once to pick up what I missed on the first viewing. Fortunately, Snyder does not change policy and remarks graphic novel for film. Some parts are missing, but the work is a thought-provoking two-and-a-half hour anyway. Plus, it is a clear story. This is a comic book movie for mature audiences. It is located on top of the other films as comic book wise and because it addresses some of the most important issues, even mankinds existence. Watchmen is expertly done, there is much to like about it. I respect him and I love him more than any other motion picture superhero. It has gained a high recommendation from me.
